wide angle frames

I just recently invested in another prime lens--24mm 2.8, and have been having playing with it lately.
I'm so used to my 50mm though (and lovelove that lens!!), that it feels kind of weird to be shooting with a lens that is so much wider.
so although my 50mm will always be my little baby, and my favorite lens to shoot with, this one is growing on me...
can't wait to use this new partner-in-crime on upcoming shoots. :P
enjoy some wide angle-ness:
 sweet Jim...
 golden hour flair...yessss.

 at the grandparent's:
 I remember swinging on these swings endlessly when I was younger.
favorite memories.
 that color pop makes me want to do a dance or something. gah. love it.
 {and side-note, those are my newest fav summer sandals. epicness in existence, people...thank you, kohl's.}

 landscapes just got easier...and funner {and yes, that is a word}

 the little ham. who turns TWO this week. how can that be? I love him.
{^ shot using 24mm lens + 580 ex ii speedlite}
hope you all have had an awesome Monday!

love,

  1. AH! So exciting!! Wide lenses are SO fun. I can already tell by the photos you have taken this is going to be good for your photography. It will help you branch out and try some new things! I think that lenses are a big part of improvement! Recently got my 10mm f/2.8 and also a 24-85mm f/28 and I couldn't believe how much it already has helped me to get out of my comfort zone. My 50mm f/1.8 was what I was used to and felt "safe" with. I still love it, but loving and learning with the other lenses just as much! :)
    xoxoxo!!
    Can't wait to see more with the new lens! Love that shot of the bottle...wowie.

  2. Good choice going with the 24mm. I am sure you will just love it. It really is an adjustment at first. I have one and use it just as much (and sometimes more often) then my 50mm. I love the different look I can get with it.

    Also, congrats on the new camera! How exciting. That is my dream, to someday upgrade my 60D. :)

  3. Grandma would love to have prints of those flower photos, and probably the clothespins on the line. Wonderful shots.
