Mia + Magic : a girl and her horse | iowa city, ia portrait photographer

 I love getting the opportunity to photograph something new,

 and doing a shoot with a horse is definetly new and fun!

Awhile back Mia asked me about doing pictures with her and her horse, Magic.

I was excited--this was another morning shoot, which was beautiful.

 

I took horseback riding lessons for several summers when I was younger,

but haven't been on a horse in years, and I actually rode on Magic with her a little when we took these.

I need to get back in the saddle again soon! ;)

 

Mia is a beautiful girl, and seeeriously cracks me up.

she goes from looking like she's 16  in some shots [she's actually 12],

to hilarious expressions, then back looking like a little girl.

[all in the same shoot--impressive talent]

My stomach was about hurting from laughing so much by the time we were done--

fond memories of taking these back in October.

 

We tromped through the timber behind her house along with her mom, and made some art...
