grow your gift.

Awhile back someone sent me the link to this message, and suggested I listen to it while I was editing.
I did so, and wow--so good.

So whether you have a mountain of editing, or laundry, dishes, etc, to hash through, :)
I would recommend you do the same.
Titled 'Grow Your Gift,' it is by the pastor of Elevation Church in NC, Steven Furtick.

One point he makes in there that will forever stick with me was this --

David was so good at his craft [harp playing] and people knew how skilled he was,
that when King Saul needed someone to play for him, David was the first person they got.

Stop and think about that for a minute.

Whatever gifts we have, or talents we possess--are we growing them?
Like David, are we as Christians skilled enough that when people have need of a certain talent
to use or incorporate in ministry, they think of us?
[convicting, right?!!]

I listened to another of Steven Furtick's sermons awhile back which was also good,
but since I haven't listened to every one I can't endorse them all at this point. :)
He also just came out with a new book, "Crash the Chatterbox," which I'd love to read at some point.

I usually listen to music while I'm editing, but here and there in the past I have listened to sermons instead,
and I want to make that more of a habit this year.
May as well multi-task! :)

hope you're having a beautiful Thursday!
