on turning 20 + a GIVEAWAY!

today I have left the ranks of teenager-ness and feel really grown-up.

 

yes--its my birthday and I am now 20!
not sure what I think about that yet.

 It's really a weird thing to think of myself as being this age...because, 20 sounds...well, old.

 

I've always thought of 20 as some far off thing in the future, and now it's a reality!

Time really goes quicker as you grow older...I heard people say that all the time and am realizing
 it more and more lately.

 

Wrote this in my journal the other day--

 

"I turn 20 in a few days-scary thought. Its always seemed so far off and now its on me.

Like awakening from a sleep and seeing that the far-off smudge of pink was washed away too quickly.

And a new season, sunny and full of unknowns is here."

 

Otto was running around at our church club the other night, and his smile--

so full and happy made me smile.

 We need to enjoy life more, right? There's so much to be thankful for and happy about!

 Though I don't know what all will happen in this next year of my life,
I'm excited and can rejoice in the fact that He holds the future. :)
 

a quote that has been on my mind a lot lately is this one, by Francis Chan:

"Our greatest fear should not be of failure,

 but of succeeding at things in life that don't really matter."

 I don't want to come to the end of my life and find I was successful in things that will fade away,

or that I spent my time investing in an earthly, temporal endeavor.

As Christians, we have eternity to live for!

Just some things on my mind. :)

 

okay, so the real reason you're reading this post is because you heard there was a giveaway, right?! ;)

sooo, for my birthday today I've been focusing on giving to others [more on that next week]
