Score Thrifty : bangles + sea creatures

I don't even want to think about the last time I did one of these posts--

it was months ago!

I feel bad because I know many of you blog readers really love

score thrifty posts, and I haven't done one in so long.

My fall was so much crazier than I anticipated, and therefore I've had a growing pile of sacks

and things sitting in my room waiting to be photographed. ;)

Today--today I did it.

I sorted through and picked out my favorite thrifty finds and had fun taking pictures of them

to share with you all!

 

let's start with something orange, shall we?

got this for $1 in the Target dollar section.

seriously, that little corner in Target is my weakness--cute, cheap stuff I can't resist.

I just got this there too--chevron printed duct tape for $1..

yes!!

and these fun rolls or wrapping paper [$1 ea]

I really really love packaging, and already used some of the far right roll.

I have an Aztec/Indian themed family shoot I'd love to do someday with these..

more items later in this post to go along with that idea. ;)

pillow for $1.

plan is to recover it...hopefully that can happen this winter!

love how wide it is...plus the plaid reminds me of Lands End or Eddie Bauer or something.

left one I got free from my Grandma, right one was $1 at a garage sale.

crisp, old pages..just waiting to be written on!


I was pretty stoked about these--Pampered Chef can opener, pie server & melon baller.

pie server was $2, other items $1 ea.

seriously, I really love Gap...they just always have awesome style and I love hitting up their clearance!


one of my sweet piano students gave me a Hobby Lobby giftcard

[way sweet!]

and I haven't been to that store in forever.

I got these cool napkins there--now who wants to come over for a party?!

75 cents for a houndstooth brown beanie? yes, thank you.

Lately I've been loving fingerless gloves..

[maybe because I have a smartphone] :P

these aren't exactly fingerless since it just has the thumb hole,

and then the 4 other fingers peek out...but I really like them. :)

here's something else I found for my 'Aztec/Indian' shoot if I ever do it..

$4 shirt for a little boy.


this would be for a girl to wear at the same shoot.

I found this skirt on the sale rack at Gap..and it was...wait for it...

.97 cents.

so...

I bought 4!

In different sizes.... :)

Picked up these treat sacks in the Christmas section when I was at Hobby Lobby the other day...

there were discounted since they were trying to get rid of all the Christmas decor, etc., so were about $1 per pack...and there's 24 sacks in each one!

 

I was excited because they don't look super Christmas-y, and I could use them for other things throughout the year.

yay stationary.....

okay, so this was a definite 'score thrifty moment'!

found this pack of sea party invites/place cards/gift bags at TJ Maxx for 70 cents.

umm, YES.

I won't use them for a party...probably just the invites as stationary and the gift bags

[if I can part with them!] for gifts to friends..

aren't they adorable?!



I got all four of these plates in the next pictures for $5 at a garage sale..

I'm not planning on keeping them, but I like having stuff like this on hand to give to friends as gifts. :)


okay, so lately I've been on a colored pants craze.

I looked for some a couple months ago, but didn't want to pay $30 for a pair

[I'm too cheap for that]

so I waited and now have picked up several pairs really cheap, and even got some orange ones for Christmas. :)

I found these purple ones for $7 at Kohl's.

the same day I got these pants ^ I found this plum skirt on a sale rack too for $3...

and it came with a BELT!

I really like the simple/classy look of this cardigan.

another Plato's Closet find....I call this my 'parade-of-the-wooden-soldiers" dress because of the gold buttons.

haha.

anyway, I got it at Plato's for $6, and it still had the original price tag on it that was $134.

needless to say, I feel rich wearing it. :P


and it has pockets!

We usually always go shopping the day after Christmas, and when we were at Kohl's I saw a bright orange dress that I almost bought...but then decided not to.

I'm so glad I didn't, because right afterwards I stopped in at Old Navy and found this!

 I really love it--and was only $7.50!


I'm sure some of you have seen these Old Navy dresses before--

I really loved them when they first came out...but didn't want to pay full price.

they had different colors like navy and white, blue and red, etc.

I wish I could have gotten the blue and red one [which was my favorite]

but I only found the navy and bright blue on the sale rack in my size.

this isn't for me, I just picked it up at Gap because it was cute and on clearance [<-- purchasing weakness, right there]

now I'm thinking maybe I'll use it in the Aztec shoot too...or anyone else have an idea??

I found this at Kohl's [boy, I've been at that store so much over the last few months!]

for $10.

yay for a white summer dress! ;)

this dress is proof that there are perks to being short. :P

found it in the little girl sale at old navy--it's XXL, and looks Christmas-y but was only $10.

I think its cute. :)
